Updated October 31, 2026. Prices below were checked on Kit’s pricing page on this date.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) has three plans: a free plan, Creator and Pro. Like most email platforms, what you pay depends on how many subscribers you have, so the price that matters is the one at the list size you expect to reach, not just today’s. Here’s what each plan costs, what it includes and the catches worth knowing before you sign up.

Kit pricing at a glance

  • Free: $0 for up to 10,000 subscribers, with unlimited landing pages, forms and email broadcasts.
  • Creator: from $39 a month billed monthly, or $33 a month billed yearly ($390 a year), for 1,000 subscribers.
  • Pro: from $79 a month billed monthly, or $66 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 subscribers.
  • Free trial: 14 days on Creator or Pro, with no credit card required.
  • Yearly billing saves about 17%.

Yearly prices are shown as a monthly equivalent and are paid upfront for the year. At 25,000 subscribers, Creator is $166 a month billed yearly ($1,990 a year). When we checked, Kit was also offering 25% off the first year of Pro on yearly billing; it renews at the standard rate after that.

What each plan includes

Free

Kit’s free plan is one of the most generous in email marketing. You get up to 10,000 subscribers, unlimited landing pages and forms, unlimited broadcasts, tagging and segmentation, and you can sell digital products and paid subscriptions. It’s limited to one user, emails carry Kit branding, support is by email, and there are no automated sequences or visual automations.

Creator

Creator is the plan most people end up on. It adds unlimited visual automations and email sequences, so you can set up welcome series and launches. It also adds removal of Kit branding, RSS-to-email campaigns, 100+ app integrations, SMS marketing, two users, 24/7 email and chat support, and a free migration from another platform.

Pro

Pro adds tools for bigger lists and teams: unlimited users, a newsletter referral system, subscriber engagement scoring, deliverability reporting, an insights dashboard, advanced A/B testing (up to five subject lines), Facebook custom audiences, editing links in emails you’ve already sent, and priority 24/7 support.

Costs and catches to know about

  • Automations aren’t free. The free plan has no email sequences, so if you want a welcome series that sends on its own, you’ll need Creator.
  • Prices rise with your list. Kit charges by subscriber count, so moving from 1,000 to 5,000 subscribers takes Creator from $39 to $89 a month on monthly billing.
  • Selling has fees. Digital product and subscription sales carry a 3.5% + 30ยข transaction fee on every plan.
  • Pro’s discount is first-year only. The 25% Pro offer applies to your first year; the plan renews at the standard rate.

Is Kit worth the price?

Kit costs more than budget tools like MailerLite at the same list size, so it makes the most sense if you’re building a newsletter, selling digital products or growing an audience, which is what it’s designed for. If you just need to send a monthly newsletter to customers on a tight budget, compare it with MailerLite first. If your list is under 10,000 and you don’t need automations yet, the free plan costs nothing to start.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kit really free?

Yes. The free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited broadcasts. You pay only when you need automations, more users, or features from Creator or Pro.

Do I need a credit card for the trial?

No. The 14-day trial of Creator or Pro doesn’t require a credit card.

Is Kit the same as ConvertKit?

Yes. ConvertKit rebranded as Kit. It’s the same company and product.
